Malia is home to some of the best beaches in the whole of Crete. The long and beautiful stretches of golden sand will quickly become your favourite place in the world. If you love to sunbathe, you’re in luck because the weather throughout Summer is absolutely melting – you can just sit back and enjoy the sun as you take in the vast expanse of stunning coastal views.

This is an amazing place to unwind in between shifts. If you’re a thrill-seeker you can find loads of cool water sports and fun activities on the beach. Or you can check out some of the seafront bars and relax with a cocktail in your hand and sand between your toes.

How much money are you going to need?

The island of Crete is generally considered to be a place where you get good value for money, especially in comparison to other European destinations.

You might not get Wetherspoons prices everywhere, but you certainly won’t be ripped off. A trip to Malia can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. When it comes to drinking, there are plenty of deals to take advantage of to save you a few quid. You don’t necessarily want to be counting the pennies while you’re on your holiday, but it is worth staying on top of your finances.

Exploring Malia

There’s more to Malia than meets the eye

Let’s not kid around here, Malia is mainly known for its incredible nightlife – most people who visit the area are looking for a good time. But it’s also part of the beautiful island of Crete which has so much to offer. It is quite literally steeped in history and culture – which you should definitely take the time to soak in while you’re over there.

There are loads of day trips you can jump on around the island, including tours to visit the birthplace of Zeus or the ancient Minoan palace ruins. We recommend hiring a quad bike and going on a bit of adventure to see more of the island. There are also tonnes of events scheduled throughout summer, including boat parties, festivals and a jam-packed clubbing calendar.
